Forget about your camera! And what does young cabbage have to do with it?

📷 What is most important for a travel photographer? It might seem like the key element is the perfect camera. However, today I want to present a different perspective. The camera is just a tool in the hands of the photographer. Even the best equipment won’t create magical photos without the skills and vision of the photographer. Think about how many of your friends have invested in expensive DSLRs or mirrorless cameras, believing that the cameras alone would make them outstanding photographers. Perhaps you’ve been there yourself?

Of course, mastering the use of a camera, especially the one you already own, is valuable. This skill allows you to focus on the world around you instead of the gear. By doing so, you open yourself up to discovering new things, places, and situations you had no idea existed before.

My photographs tell a story about me, my sensitivity, and the world that surrounds me or that I enter with curiosity. For you, as the audience, is it more important what I captured in the photo, or is it the story told and the emotions captured within it? Sometimes, it’s better to have a slightly blurred photo with a profound story, taken by someone with a message and a vision, than a perfectly sharp image taken with the most expensive camera but lacking in creativity and originality.

If you learn to express beauty through humble photography (regardless of the amount of gear in your closet), your photos will gain much greater value than ever before!

So forget about the camera, but don’t forget your camera! 🙂

📷 Co jest najważniejsze dla fotografa podróżniczego? Mogłoby się wydawać, że kluczowym elementem jest doskonały aparat. Niemniej jednak, dzisiaj chcę Wam przedstawić inną perspektywę. Aparat to jedynie narzędzie w rękach fotografa. Nawet najlepszy sprzęt nie zrobi magicznych zdjęć bez umiejętności i wizji samego fotografa. Zastanów się, ilu z Twoich znajomych zakupiło drogie lustrzanki czy bezlusterkowce, wierząc, że same aparaty uczynią ich fotografiami wybitnymi? A może sam tam byłeś/byłaś albo jesteś?

Oczywiście, warto opanować obsługę aparatu, zwłaszcza tego, który już posiadasz. Ta umiejętność pozwoli Ci skupić się na otaczającym Cię świecie zamiast na sprzęcie. Dzięki temu otworzysz się na dostrzeżenie nowych rzeczy, miejsc i sytuacji, o których wcześniej nie miałeś pojęcia.

Moje fotografie opowiadają o mnie, o mojej wrażliwości i o świecie, który mnie otacza lub do którego wchodzę z ciekawością.

Dla Ciebie, jako odbiorcy, czy ważniejsze jest to, czym zrobiłam zdjęcie, czy może opowiadana historia i uchwycone w niej emocje? Czasami lepiej jest mieć zdjęcie trochę poruszone, ale z głęboką historią, wykonane przez kogoś, kto ma coś do powiedzenia i wie, co chce przekazać, niż zdjęcie zrobione najdroższym aparatem, idealnie ostre, ale pozbawione wizji i oryginalności.

Jeżeli nauczysz się wyrażać piękno poprzez skromną fotografię (niezależnie od ilości sprzętu w szafie), Twoje zdjęcia nabiorą znacznie większej wartości niż dotychczas!

Zapomnij więc o aparacie, ale nie zapominaj aparatu! 🙂
